Pet Good Samaritan Fund

We are a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit tax deductible fund.

Our mission is to support veterinary hospitals in the prevention of economic euthanasia for treatable pet emergencies.

PGSF helps cases where the pet is experiencing a life threatening emergency, a veterinarian has diagnosed a treatable condition, with treatment the pet is expected to have a good return to a normal quality of life, and the pet parent is experiencing financial hardship.

PGSF helps monetarily by paying directly to the veterinary hospital. Emergencies that do not qualify include, but are not limited to, poor return to quality of life, heart disease, neoplasia, and chronic disease.

If you are a veterinarian interested in learning more, please email us at petgoodsamfund@gmail.com. We would love to meet with you!

Our email is not monitored 24 hours a day and is not set up to receive emergency requests from pet parents however we are always happy to communicate.

If you are a pet owner, let your veterinarian know about us so we can establish a partnership in advance and be able to help in an emergency.

Meet George – The first PGSF recipient!

George arrived at the veterinary clinic blocked and purring. A blocked cat is unable to urinate and, without treatment he would have continued to experience extreme pain and eventually die. His mom had $400. An unblocking at this clinic runs $800 – $1500. His mom applied for immediate assistance and because of our generous donors, sweet George was saved.

No pet should suffer or be euthanized due to economic reasons.

A passion for saving lives

PGSF collaborates with veterinary hospitals to provide life-saving treatment for pets at risk of economic euthanasia.

Who Qualifies for PGSF funding?

  • Pet Parents who have exhausted all other options and are in need of financial assistance to save their pet in a treatable emergency

PGSF cannot provide assistance for the following:

Make a Difference

Upon donation, you will receive information for your tax deduction purposes. Donations can be made in honor of, or, in memory of a pet or person. Donations can’t be designated to go to a specific recipient (because of the application process). If you want to donate to a specific pet, please arrange this with the veterinary hospital the pet is being treated at. Thank you for caring so much!
